Voice communications has evolved to include other means of information exchanges to enhance its effectiveness. For instance, a user could send an e-mail to another user's phone extension. The receiving user would then receive a text message on their mobile phone and/or an e-mail notifying them of the message. Once dialing into the voicemail system, the user could retrieve the message. The options are limitless; there is a function for every need.
